INSIGHT
THERAPY

Whole Wellness - The InSight Vision

I created InSight to fill a void in our modern healthcare system. While psychology and medicine have given us many powerful and effective tools, I have long believed that in our fast-paced world, we have lost touch with ourselves, with nature, and with each other. My eclectic approach to therapy focuses on healing mind, body and even society. I base the model on systems theory and the Person-in-Environment approach, and I understand that real healing requires attention to the body, the mind and the self within our culture/society.

The Mind

Like all forms of psychotherapy, the InSight model focuses on healing the mind through traditional talk therapy and cognitive behavioral models rooted in evidence-based practice. The InSight approach to mental health treatment is dynamic and flexible, and can pull from established models such as CBT, EMDR, TF-CBT, mindfulness, experiential, psychodynamic theory, systems theory, biofeedback, and more. Our providers take a strengths based, client centered approach to treatment. The client as a person is at the heart of therapy; the focus on the mind within the person is a primary component of treatment.

The Body

The mind-body connection is real. Your mind and body are interconnected parts of the whole. They are dynamic and ever-changing. They effect one another in powerful and profound ways. At InSight, we believe that whole wellness and true healing come from work on both the mental and physical. Diet and nutritional balance, cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength & endurance, sleep hygiene, and flexibility come together and are pillars of body wellbeing. Where the body leads, the mind will follow; and vice versa. At InSight, we understand the power of this connection, and the therapy we offer incorporates the health of the body as well as the mind.

The Environment

Therapy doesn't happen in a vacuum. When you leave the therapy office, your wellness and the treatment must follow. Life exists outside of the boundaries of the therapy office, and at InSight we understand that our clients are people living within a series of larger systems: work, friendships, family, social connections, culture and society at large all effect how we feel, what we think, and how we act. Treatment at InSight acknowledges this reality, and our providers focus on understanding our clients as people within the larger environment. When enough people truly work on their wellbeing, change and improvements can occur at the level of society. We understand this concept, and the role of the environment is always accounted for.
