Course Description:
This continuing education course provides mental health professionals with a comprehensive introduction to psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. Participants will explore the historical and medicinal use of psychedelics, review current research findings, and examine emerging clinical methods and protocols. Particular attention is given to ketamine, psilocybin and MDMA, but the course also covers LSD, ibogaine and ayahuasca. The course will highlight evidence-based interventions, therapeutic frameworks, and cultural competency considerations necessary for safe and effective practice. Attention will also be given to contraindications, potential risks, and the legal and ethical complexities surrounding psychedelic therapy.
Learning Objectives:
After completing this course, participants will be able to:

Describe the history of the medicinal use of psychedelic medicines.

Explain the importance of cultural competency when working within a PAP framework.

Describe the effects of the classical psychedelics, non-classical psychedelics, entactogens and phenethylamines.

About the Instructor:
Noah Carroll, MSS, LCSW is a therapist in private practice in Chester Springs, PA. He is the owner and founder of InSight Therapy & Counseling Services LLC. A graduate of the Master’s Program in Social Work and Social Research at Bryn Mawr College, Noah spent the formative years of his career working in community behavioral health as a Lead Clinician with Family Based. In his work now, Noah takes a trauma-informed approach to therapy, and provides experiential therapy with a strong focus on IFS and EMDR as therapeutic frameworks. Noah has been passionate about psychedelic medicines for as long as he can remember, and considers himself a student of the mystic and the unknow. Consciousness and the vastness of the cosmos have been at the core of Noah's personal work and professional development. He brings a passion and genuineness to his work, laying his humanity on the table, and is a dynamic and engaging speaker.
